Today is one chilly day here in Toronto, I think I heard it’s suppose to feel like –30C…EEK! I decided to skip my Sunday morning run and go to a hot yoga power flow class, perfect to get the muscles moving while staying warm and happy.
Yesterday was lunch the first Toronto blogger meet-up of the New Year at Le Commensal, an adorable and delicious vegan/vegetarian restaurant. The concept of Commensal is pretty great – buffet style with hot and cold dishes along with a dessert section, you pick whatever you fancy and as much as you want and then you pay by weight.
Here’s what my plate looked like:
Steamed kale, bean salad, Nut pate, green apple and beet salad, cold quinoa salad and roasted sweet potatoes.
The very sweet Lisa of Vegan Culinary Crusade also made us some amazing raw, vegan macaroons…except I ate them before I could snap a pic!
It was such a great experience to be able to put a face to a blog as well as be introduced to some new ones. Here we are after eating and convincing a dining patron to take our photo (I’m kneeling at the bottom, 3rd from the right in ridiculously over-sized grey scarf):
The wonderful attendee’s included:
Morgan of Life After Bagels
Susan of The Great Balancing Act
Samantha of Health, Happiness & Skinny Jeans
Nancy of Spiffy Kerms
Angela of Eat Spin Run Repeat
Lisa of Vegan Culinary Crusade
Kristin of Cook Bake Nibble
Meghan of Making Love In The Kitchen
Candice of Candice Lee
Tracy of Commit To Fit
Claire of Claire Loves…
Lily of A Salted Life
Sara of They Call It Gumption
Preena of A Teaspoon Of Turmeric
Callie of Callie Flower Kitchen
Therese of Life’s Tasty Adventures
I really love blogger meet-ups because you learn so much about one another through blogging and to be able to have that sort of connection and meet and form real friendships from it is truly amazing. As someone who is insanely shy it’s a really great opportunity to meet equally like-minded people and break out of my comfort zone. Please be sure to check out these lovely ladies blogs!
